"Know how I learn, what helps me learn, and what I want to learn"

This year SAIL is currently offering three blended learning academies for students: STEAM 8-10 & STEAMX 8-10, and Compass 8-12.

SAIL K-7 is an in-school multi-grade program offered out of Brookside Elementary. Students are in attendance daily from Monday to Thursday and provided with a home learning component to complete at home on Fridays. Students learn through an inquiry and project-based learning model using a variety of digital tools.

Multi-grade structure: Students from various grade levels (K-3) and (4-7) are grouped together, fostering collaborative learning and peer mentoring.

Attendance and home learning: Students attend school Monday through Thursday, with a home learning component assigned for Fridays. This structure supports flexibility while ensuring continued learning outside the classroom.

Inquiry and project-based learning: This approach allows students to explore topics in depth, developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills through hands-on, real-world projects.

Digital tools: The program follows the BC Curriculum with an emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics while integrating various digital tools into the learning experience, which enhances interactivity, provide access to diverse resources, and help students develop digital literacy.

Additionally, 吃瓜大本营 Academy of Innovative Learning (SAIL) offers more than 65 online courses at the secondary level (Grades 8-12). Online courses are offered for full-time students for grades 8 & 9 and for full-time and part-time students for grades 10-12.

Transforming Curriculum

SAIL students focus on inquiry and project-based learning, through an interdisciplinary program. Students explore real world topics that foster independent learning and critical thought. Rather than traditional subjects taught in isolation, SAIL students integrate concepts from Science, Math, and Humanities into their learning.

All instruction is fully accredited by the BC Ministry of Education and offers an enriched and flexible education program.
